Successful in his debut at Salisbury, the son of Dutch Art finished second behind star juvenile Pinatubo from the Group Two Vintage Stakes at Goodwood.
The two-year-old rediscovered the trail in a Group Three in Sandown becoming the best of the Kameko of Andrew Balding by just a nose.
Cox is in no hurry to devote the next objective of Positive, however, Darley Dewhurst Stakes and the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes are both under consideration.
“We’re quite delighted with the win at Sandown, and he’s come from this race well,” stated the Lambourn-based trainer.
“He has an entry to the Dewhurst and the Royal Lodge, therefore we’ll essentially keep moving ahead and keep an open mind.
“He’s progressing well, and we’re pleased he seems to have lots of scope to improve.”
